In the Iranian Cinema Section, “I Saw Your Daddy Last Night, Aida” directed by Rasul Sadr-Ameli won the best film and the best director Golden Butterflies; and “The Redness of the Unripe Apple” by Mohammad-Ali Talebi won the special jury award.
The Golden Butterfly for the best screenplay went to Hossein Qena’at for the film “Adventures on the Internet”, and Maryam Hosseinpur was selected as the best child actress for her role in the film “The Liar Shepherd”.
Cinematographer Morteza Pursamadi received the Technical and Artistic Achievements Award for the “Requiem of Snow”. In addition, honorary diplomas were presented to child actors Ilia Shahidifar, Alma Oskuii, and Mahru Qolizadeh.
The short video “Red Castle” by Farnush Aedi and the long video “Damson Plum Garden” by Behruz Shoeibi also won first prizes in their categories.
Marzieh Borumand, Hushang Moradi Kermani, Reza Mir-Karimi, Kiumars Purahmad, and Mohammad-Mehdi Asgarpur were the jury members for the Iranian Cinema Section.
In the International Cinema Section, the Golden Butterfly for best film went to “The Italian” by Russian filmmaker Andrei Kravchuk, and its six-year-old star Kolya Spiridonov was selected as the best child actor.
French filmmaker Christophe Barratier was selected as the best director for the film “The Chorus” (Les Choristes).
Iran’s “Requiem of Snow” directed by Jamil Rostami won the special jury award, and “There Was a Moon and a Fox” by Babak Nazari won the Golden Butterfly as the best short film. The best short video award went to “Return Home” by Behzad Farlahat.
The 20th Isfahan International Festival of Film for Children and Young Adults was held from September 29 to October 3.
